Day After Christmas Sales 2013: Best Deals & Sales of the Year have  Started

The After Christmas Sale for 2013 had begun for some retailers on December 23,2013. We updated this page again on the 25th – We were surprise that other retailers were starting their sale on December 25th, 2013 – Christmas Day. Our team and I didn’t want you to miss any deals and wanted you to be the first to know. So we have updated this page several times and again today December 26th, 2013 – added more retailers to list.  I guess we can officially call this sale the “Year-end sale” instead of the Day After-Christmas Sale.

Amazon is one of the first retailers to start their sale early; this is the earliest we have seen any retailers start their year-end sale. Amazon is one the leading online retailers; they have a wide selection of products in many categories. This year, they have up to 20% off on tablets. BestBuy have officially started their After Christmas Sales. They are calling it “The In-Store & Online Annual Yellow Tag Event”. Up to 50% off both Online and In-Store. Older Update: Move over Cyber Monday, the after Christmas sales are coming and we will be listing the best deals from a variety of retailers.  For those who don’t know exactly what is “after Christmas sale”, it is basically a sale that usually begins the day after Christmas.

Retailers will put there clearance, marked down, and overstocked items at a deeper discount. Now, some may just call it Christmas sales, or year-end sale, but the true term is the “day after Christmas sale”.

For the past few years, some retailers have started their after Christmas sales before Christmas and some on Christmas Day. For this year, I can be sure that many popular retailers will be starting their sales before Christmas, while others will keep the tradition. However, there is no need to worry because we will be on top of our game and let you know, first-hand, all of the great deals.

Are the After Christmas Sales worth the wait and money?

Many may ask if the after Christmas deals are worth it. Well, I have been listing deals for these types of sales for the last few years. Many consumers don’t know that purchasing items around the Christmas time is the best way to shop because the items are the most heavily discounted – more so than any other time of the year. Many of the same items that you see marked down during the Black Friday or Cyber Monday sales will most likely be available after Christmas at even lower prices. So in other words, yes, the deals are definitely worth the wait and cash!

Why are items so heavily discounted around Christmas?

There are a few reasons why the discounts are so grand. One reason being that retailers want to get rid of their year-end stock to make room for their next year inventory.  Secondly, since many consumers are already done with their Christmas shopping, retailers need to make prices more appealing in order to lure customers back in and to get rid of the overstock. Thirdly, retailers will put their left over inventory at ridiculously low prices in order to meet their year-end quota. All in all, this all works in the consumer’s favor. Whether you’re looking for an HDTV, apparel, appliances, or something else, you may be able to purchase the item wanted at a very low price.

What types of retailers will be having the best After Christmas Sales 2013?

Many retailers will be participating in this year’s After Christmas sale. Retailers such as Walmart, Amazon, Best Buy, Target – to just name a few – will be having great deals. Make sure to check back on our website to find out which retailers will be having the better deals and bigger savings.

What type of deals & sales can I expect?

I can only predict that sales will be bigger and better than last year. You can expect huge markdowns in many categories as well as store-wide sales. Last year’s sales were just phenomenal. The following are just a few of the sales that were offered last year:

  • Amazon led the way with 70% off on clothing & accessories. They also had 60% off on electronics, up to 50% off on toys & games and other sales in other great categories.
  • Old Navy had a site-wide sale with up to 50% off online.
  • Kohl’s was another retailer that stood out from the rest with a 65% – 75% off on all Christmas/winter items and a 15% off with no minimum purchase. With a purchase of $100 or more, you’d get 20% off instead of the 15% off.

And these were just to name a few. Of course there were other retailers such as Best Buy, Target, Macys, Bed, Bath & Beyond and many others that were offering amazing deals and after Christmas sales.
